  6. New "datatypes.library", V45.2
  7.  
  8. This project replaces the old datatypes.library V40.6 from CBM.
  9.  
  10. NOTE: This is a "Preview"-Release, many things (like the example code) are currently unter construction
  11. (except the library itself; it's finished).
  12.  
  13. Features:
  14. - Fully backwards compatible: The datatypes.library V45 has the same interface as V40/V39,
  15.   old applications won't have problems with this update.
  16.  
  17. - Speed. The new datatypes.library is a little bit faster than the original. On request,
  18.   a 020-version wouuld be possible.
  19.  
  20. - Bug-Fixes: datatypes.library V45 fixes all bugs I knew about the datatypes.library V40.6.
  21.  
  22. - Extended interface:
  23.   The new datatypes.library introduces new features in the datatypes system:
  24.   - Tools: You can define a set of tools for each datatype.
  25.            A DT browser like "GMultiView" is able to present the list of tools in a
  26.            menu/dock/etc., and is able to launch them.
  27.  
  28.            For example, you're viewing a C source, you're able to launch CED from the
  29.            tools menu.
  30.  
  31.   - Image: The datatypes.library V45 includes the docs how to handle a datatype
  32.            like an image within applications and/or other subclasses.
  33.  
  34.   - Descriptor list: Applications are now able to access the datatypes global descriptor
  35.            list in a system-friedly way.
  36.  
  37.   Many other features have been added to make things using datatypes easier.
  38.  
  39. - The distribution comes with full development environment (includes,fd's,pragmas etc.) for SAS/C and
  40.   some examples "How to use the new interface".
  41.  
  42.   Note: You need the original CBM includes to create the new ones (#?.pch files and SAS/C "spatch" included).
